About Gozo:

Hello everyone! I am Jessica from Year 5. Gozo is an island situated in north-west of Malta. The capital city of Gozo is Victoria. In Gozo, one can find very important places, like Ggantija which date back to 5000 years ago. There is also Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, the Azzure Window in Dwejra and the Cittadella. Gozo is a very clean and tidy place and is frequented by tourists all year round. Gozo is well known for its beautiful countryside and the beautiful beaches of Xlendi, Ramla, Mgarr ix-Xini and Marsalforn.

About the School:

Hello everyone! I am Shirley from Year 5. Our school opened its doors in a house in St. Cahterine’s Street, on 2nd December, 1861. Emanuel Montanaro was the first headmaster. On 24th October, 1955, the government began building our present spacious school in Soil Street. It was opened on 31st March, 1958, so tomorrow, it is our school’s 52nd birthday! In 1999, the school was named in honour of a headmistress and local philantropist, Rosa Magro. On 28th June, 2005, our school became part of the Gozo College and thus, changed its name to the present one, Gozo College Xewkija Primary.

This year, our school has become the second school from all over Gozo to obtain the Green Flag and is now an Eco-School. I am proud to be a student in this school.

About the Project

Hello everyone, I am Katia from Year 5. I have learned a lot through the project of Eratosthene. I have learned the names of countries, measurements and history. I have made new friends and continued my interest in mathematics. I will now give you the measurements we made last week:
